Navigating Life in Columbus

Navigating Life in Columbus is a workshop for internationals in Columbus, Ohio who want to learn how to live successfully and thrive in their new home.  The objective of the workshop is to help new residents (such as immigrants and refugees) ease the transition to life in a new city and country.  The workshop consists of 4 one-hour sessions, conducted over a four week period, which is held virtually using Zoom or in person.  The workshop is focused on the practical aspects of living in Columbus and includes such topics as getting a credit card, finding a doctor, getting a driver's license, traffic laws, public safety, government services, climate, U.S. currency, and places of interest.

The workshop is for adults and teenagers.  Families are welcome to participate in the workshop together.  Some familiarity with English is required.

Participants in previously-offered workshops have been from such locations as Algeria, China, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Jordan, and Venezuela.

Workshop highlights:
